Recently, on August 8th, Cowboy Jack Clement passed away at the age of 82. Jack Clement was one of those larger than life types of people who did everything, worked with everyone, and inspired countless individuals through his life's work. Jack Clement was a songwriter, singer, publisher, record producer, film producer, Marine, performer, father, radio personality, and Hall-of-Famer (Rockabilly Hall of Fame, Music City Walk of Fame, and Country Music Hall of Fame). The influence he has had on music as a whole (not just country music) is immeasurable as the list of people he has written songs for, produced, or just helped is pretty significant. Cowboy Jack Clement may not be as big of a household name as people like Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, U2, Ray Charles, Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, or even Johnny Cash; but you hear him every day just by turning on the radio or playing your favorite songs. Cowboy Jack Clement - another legend has left us.
