What a festival! Historic Downtown Matthews, NC really knows how to host an event. The Matthews Alive Festival held each Labor Day Weekend is making a difference in their local community by hosting a fantastic and informative fundraising festival that offers something for everyone. From arts and crafts at the "Kids Connection" to exhibits, food vendors, and merchants there is something for everyone. Of course there are the expected carnival rides and activities but with FOUR entertainment stages; you really can't do it all. The festival patrons that show up by the masses for this event certainly have a lot to choose from and we sincerely thank those who chose to come and watch The Folsom Prison Gang. From our "small band" perspective coming from the hills of Western North Carolina, this event ranked right up there as one of our favorites and we're honored to have performed last night. Everything was well organized and coordinated; the event staff were very helpful and do a fantastic job putting on this event. The sound system and supporting sound engineers were AWESOME! Thank you! We really had a great time during the show and can''t thank the town of Matthews enough for having us.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out for the show. The crowd was wonderful and we could tell there were many Cash fans in the audience. We hope that we played some of your favorite tunes. (I know, "Ring of Fire", "Ring of Fire", we finally got that one in for you). Please let us know if we missed any of your favorites so we can consider adding them to our set list. It's nice to see some familiar faces at another show so thanks to the Johnny Cash fans who love what we do and come out to support us in paying tribute to The Man in Black. A special thanks to Mayor Myers for introducing The Folsom Prison Gang on the Lowe''s Main Stage. It was an honor to be there and perform just before the headliner, Hot Sauce. We hope to be back again next year!

Enjoyed your performance at Matthews Alive in Matthews, NC on Labor Day Weekend. A suggestion -- we arrived in the middle of your set and didn't know that name of the band. You referenced your website a couple of times, but never gave the web address. It was only by googling "Johnny Cash tribute bands" that I was able to find this site. It might be helpful to mention the actual web address and the name of your band from time to time during your sets. Just an idea, keep up the good work.

Hey Larry This is Robert (vocals), thanks for coming out and thanks for your response.. I sure hope we did Johnny proud and I hope you were able to catch a few songs you liked. Mathews NC sure was good to us.. Sorry you had to search for us in Google, we will try to make that information a little better known next time. We had a banner on the face of the stage and I just assumed it was visible to all. Sorry bout that.. Anyhow I thank you for your comments and hope to see you again in the future.. Robert

WONDERFUL...ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! Guys you were a MOST welcome sound to the Matthews Alive festival. My husband and I moved to Matthews from New Orleans ( 12 years ago ) and we have been to every Matthews Alive since then. I have to say (with honest sincerity) you guys were the best band to grace the stage at Stump Town Park to date!! ... and Johnny Cash to-boot!! WOW! What an incredible sound your band has. Mr. Cash would be proud, you've MORE than done him justice...I certainly enjoyed your performance! Wishing you much success in the future.
